The annual spring flea market begins with a weeklong benefit event on Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Texas State Fair grounds. The week-long event celebrates the local economy and all those who contribute every year.

The annual festival, which features nationally acclaimed storytellers of all ages, has been running for two decades and includes concerts, storytelling and workshops. One of the main attractions is Midland College, which encourages students and artists to exhibit at the McCormick Gallery, located in the college's Allison Fine Arts building. The museum, which is of great interest to tourists, is the American Airpower Heritage Museum, which displays remains of the US Army Air Force and US Navy from World War II. Performing Arts Center of Texas, a 501 (c) (3) performing arts nonprofit, will hold its annual "Pop Masterworks" concert on Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Texas State Fairgrounds. This orchestra is part of a larger organization that organizes Pop Masterwork concerts throughout the year.

Watch historic military aircraft in the skies as the CAF High Sky Wing hosts the annual Commemorative Air Force AIRSHO at Texas State Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to a variety of vendors selling food, drinks, handicrafts and other items from local vendors, there is also live music. The event will include live entertainment, food trucks, vendors and activities for children, as well as a take-off and landing ceremony in the sky.

This major annual event provides local businesses and community leaders with an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Midland Chamber over the past year and set goals for the future. The opening nights are hosted by Midland Gemstone and Minerals Company every Monday and are open to the public every first Monday of the month from 5.30 to 7pm. This annual event will not only feature brides - too - but also a variety of other events such as weddings, receptions and events for children and families.

Join us on July 4th from 5.30pm to 7pm for an annual cultural event celebrating Scottish and Irish culture at the Midland Convention Centre. Enjoy the Star-Spangled Banner, the annual patriotic celebration hosted by the Midland Chamber of Commerce on July 4.

Hosted by the Midland Chamber of Commerce and Keep Texas Beautiful, the event will feature live music, food trucks, live entertainment and fireworks. Dinner activities include a barbecue, fireworks, a silent auction and more, as well as a raffle for a $5 gift certificate.

The evening culminates in a grand finale with the lighting of the sky with fireworks at Midland Town Hall at 5.30pm.

The annual event at the Scharbauer sports grounds offers a variety of events with live music, food, live entertainment and of course fireworks. With a patriotic Independence Day parade, this has been a tradition for more than 53 years and offers a full day of activities for children to dress up. On the 50th anniversary of the first national football team in Texas, there will be an all-star line-up of local and national athletes, as well as a special Houston Texans performance.

The city, Midland Parks and Recreation Department has done well - and has been recognized by Spoil Rotten for its long history of excellence in community service.
