Melody is retiring as a teacher and music teacher in the Middle School Music Department at Midland High School.

She received her B.M. in Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington and then earned her Master's degree in Trumpet Performance from Texas Tech University, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education in December 2014. In 2009 she was appointed to the Odessa College, where she "leads the Concert Jazz Athletic Band, teaches trumpet studio, conducts opera productions, teaches trumpets in the studio, conducts opera productions and serves as the chairwoman of the department of visual and performing arts. Connor was a guitarist and music assistant at Midland High School, where he studied under the tutelage of music teacher Dr. John D'Amato.

He has performed with the Midland Symphony Orchestra, the Odessa College Jazz Band, and as a member of the U.S. Chamber Orchestra and the Texas State Orchestra. He has also performed in the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

In 2016 he was invited to perform with the Midland Symphony Orchestra, the Odessa College Jazz Band and the U.S. Chamber Orchestra. A special moment for him was his appearance at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, which was led by former Texas A & M University President Dr. Robert Lee. MOSC has performed in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, as well as in Europe, North America, South America and Australia.

Last fall, Midland released its own version of the original Palomino concert poster, Midland Music. After the locals noticed that they were taking photos of the originals of this original "PalomINO" event without permission to promote local concerts, we used the same basic concept to promote our own Paloino concert. The band's "Sam" sign, unchanged, also appears on the photo, as well as on the front page of our website and on our Facebook page.
